New CON 217 Course Completes ESI’s FAC-C Training Offering

ARLINGTON, Va. USA – November 24, 2008 – ESI International has earned Defense Acquisition University (DAU) equivalency for its CON 217 training course thus completing full availability from ESI of the entire suite of CON Level I, Level II and Level III training courses. The courses are offered by ESI for certification in the Federal Acquisition Certification in Contracting Program (FAC-C). Professional contracting personnel of the Department of Defense and civilian agencies are required to have certification in DAU equivalent courses in order to be warranted.

The FAC-C Program requirements were released by the Office of Federal Procurement Policy (OFPP) in 2006. They were designed to establish core requirements and common standards for education, training and experience to improve competencies for the federal acquisition workforce. Since that time, ESI has provided training to more than 2,500 federal contracting employees to help them earn their FAC certifications.

In evaluations from the American Council on Education (ACE) for meeting DAU equivalency, ESI instructional materials were noted for going beyond the learning objectives of DAU standards. In addition, in several instances ESI instructors were evaluated as being extremely qualified.

“ESI’s now full range of CON training courses means that federal contracting officers can rely on our consistently highly rated instructors and courseware to meet all of their certification requirements,” said Bill Damaré, Regional Vice President, ESI. “ESI also offers classroom CON Level I and II courses that are available through DAU online only. This provides an expert instructor-led setting for contracting officers who prefer the benefits of an interactive learning experience.”

The new CON 217 training course, “Cost Analysis and Negotiation Strategies,” will be rolled out in the first quarter of 2009 in ESI's public offerings; it is available now for on-site delivery.

ESI is recognized by both the civilian Federal Acquisition Institute (FAI) and DAU as a qualified training provider. ESI assists federal government agencies in determining skill gaps, developing appropriate Individual Development Plans (IDP) and delivering best-in-class training.
